Why and how often is a brake repair and maintenance necessary?
Brake pads, discs, and fluid wear down gradually with everyday driving, and worn components can't stop your car as quickly or as safely as they should. As a general guide, we recommend having your brakes checked at every service interval, or roughly every 10,000–12,000 miles, though heavy city driving or frequent short trips can wear them out faster.

What does a brake check cover?
A thorough brake check goes well beyond the pads. Our technicians inspect:
- Pad and disc thickness and wear pattern
- Brake fluid level, condition, and moisture content
- Calipers, pistons, and hydraulic lines for leaks or sticking
- Handbrake adjustment and warning light function

Signs that there could be an issue with your braking system
Don't wait for a full failure — watch out for squealing or grinding noises when braking, a spongy or soft brake pedal, the car pulling to one side under braking, vibration through the steering wheel, or a dashboard brake warning light. Any of these is a sign to get your brakes checked as soon as possible.
